Fujitsu Licenses Viewpoint Experience Technology for Its Leading
Computer Information Web Site, fmworld.net
Viewpoint Corporation (Nasdaq: VWPT), a leader in digital marketing technologies and services for the Web, announced today that Fujitsu Limited, one of the world's leading providers of Internet-focused information technology solutions, has agreed to include Viewpoint's media player plug-in as pre-installed equipment on all of its consumer personal computer units sold in Japan. The Viewpoint media player will join other industry-standard plug-ins provided pre-installed on Fujitsu personal computers, such as Adobe(R) Acrobat Reader, AOL, Microsoft Internet Explorer(R).
The goal, says Takashi Imamura, of Fujitsu Limited, is to provide our customers with the most up-to-date, industry-standard Internet access and visualization tools already in place. "We are motivated by our high standards of service and quality to provide our customers with the best, most advanced technology available. For this reason, we have chosen to include Viewpoint's Media Player on all of our consumer PCs for the Japanese market, so that our customers will be able to immediately access the standard 3D visualization and rich media technology online without the need to download a plug-in."
In related news, Viewpoint has granted Fujitsu an exclusive Viewpoint Experience Technology license to broadcast digital content in the Viewpoint format from the Fujitsu URL: www.fmworld.net. Fmworld.net is a leading consumer destination site in Japan administered by Fujitsu.
"Fujitsu is one of the world's leading computer and technology manufacturers," said Bob Rice, president and CEO of Viewpoint Corporation. "We are very pleased to be in a partnership with Fujitsu to deliver the highest quality 3D visualization and rich media technologies to their customers. Now all Fujitsu PC users in Japan will immediately begin to experience the power of rich media on the Web, all without the interruption of a download process."
