NetCom Solutions International Names New CTO/SVP for Network Systems

NetCom Solutions International, Inc. today announced the appointment of Russell Gilbertson, internationally recognized network architect and engineer, as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President for Network Services.
NetCom Solutions provides Total Networks(TM) solutions for carriers and enterprise network owners nationwide. In addition to its headquarters at Chantilly, the company has a major materials management facility at Oklahoma City and more than fifty field service locations with a coverage area of more than 70% of the country.
Gilbertson comes to NetCom Solutions International from Computer Science Corporation (CSC) where he held the position of Director of Global Development. In this capacity, Gilbertson directed a global team of architects, engineers and software developers across Australia, Europe, North America and Singapore.
His previous roles at CSC have seen him as CTO and Systems Architect for the $10 billion Navy/Marine Corps Intranet proposal for the CSC Flagship Alliance, and Director of Systems Management Deployment as part of CSC's Global Infrastructure Services group.
Announcing Gilbertson's appointment, NetCom Solutions International's President and COO, Sam Wyman, said, "With Russell's vast commercial and government experience and knowledge of network engineering and systems architecture, he provides us with international recognition and will lead our network services organization to a new level as we target new opportunities in the marketplace."
Gilbertson received his Bachelor's of Electrical Engineering (BEE) from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology. While serving as a communications officer in the Air Force he received an MBA from Rensselaer Polytech Institute.
