Former Los Angeles City Councilman, Michael Feuer, Joins Morrison & Foerster

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 2001

Morrison & Foerster announced today that Michael Feuer has joined the firm as Of Counsel in the Los Angeles litigation department. Previously Mr. Feuer was a councilman in the City of Los Angeles' 5th District where he represented approximately 260,000 constituents and served as Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee. Mr. Feuer was a leader in the areas of gun violence, emergency services, government reform, children's and seniors' issues, the environment and race relations. In his new capacity, Mr. Feuer will draw upon his widespread background of serving the Los Angeles community to build a practice within the litigation department.

Prior to joining the City of Los Angeles in 1995, Mr. Feuer was executive director of Bet Tzedek, a public interest law firm providing free legal services to more than 50,000 elderly, disabled and poor clients. From 1986 to 1994, Mr. Feuer oversaw a 50 person staff, more than 500 volunteers and managed a budget of $2.6 million.

Mr. Feuer also taught at UCLA's law school and began his career as a judicial clerk to former California Supreme Court Justice Joseph Grodin. Mr. Feuer graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Harvard College and cum laude from Harvard Law School.
