LEXINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 2001
Western Union, Carfax, GE Medical, Adopt Latest Technology To Manage
the Health of Their E-businesses
Segue Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEGU), the e-business reliability experts, today announced the first customers for SilkVision, its new production monitoring tool. SilkVision was created to address the needs of the burgeoning application performance monitoring market.
Companies in a number of different industries - from autos to medical supplies - have begun integrating Segue's SilkVision performance monitoring software to assure the reliability and performance of their Web-based applications. These initial deployments include Carfax, G.E. Medical, the Graduate Management Admission Council and Western Union.
"As expected, there has been tremendous enthusiasm and demand for a product that monitors the health of an e-business by predicting and preventing failures before they occur," said Steve Butler, CEO of Segue Software. "With all the risks associated with live online applications -- risks that can lead to lost revenues, tarnished brands, and even threaten the viability of an organization -- companies that truly care about having a reliable e-business understand they must invest in production monitoring tools if they want to compete in today's competitive atmosphere."
Customers using SilkVision are now reaping the benefits of a tool that helps users perform a variety of tasks, including implementing complex performance and functional transaction monitoring. SilkVision performs these critical tasks resulting in significant cost savings for customers, and simplifying the process of catching errors within a transaction - one of the most important steps in the monitoring process.
"We are always looking for ways to improve our services to the management education community. We've chosen Segue's SilkTest, SilkPerformer and SilkVision to ensure that throughout development, deployment and production, our site maintains the highest levels of accuracy, reliability and performance," said Leo Kupper, Director of Technology for the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC). "We exist as a Council to serve our many customers-both institutions and students. We can only be successful if we listen to our customers and if we understand and respond to their long-term objectives and needs. SilkVision will allow us the capability to actively monitor our site and build upon the reliability that SilkTest and SilkPerformer help to ensure and that our users expect."
About the SilkVision Enterprise Monitoring System

Along with its support for Web, middleware, database and proprietary server monitoring, SilkVision lets users define and schedule monitors distributed around the globe and at the production site to measure site health based on end-user experience metrics, such as availability, accuracy and performance -- on an ongoing basis across all tiers of the application, and in a single, easy-to-understand view.
