LEXINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2001
Today, thinkingBytes Technology announced the ability for users of thinkDB, the leading handheld relational database application, to synchronize handheld data with Intuit QuickBase, a Web-based database application.
Thousands of customers already use thinkDB's intuitive, inter-enterprise solution to manage all types of business application, from project management and inventory control to asset tracking and sales management. Now these customers can share their data with others through Intuit QuickBase. For example, a salesman uses thinkDB to enter call activity into his Palm OS(R) handheld, then shares the information with management at headquarters by synchronizing with a QuickBase database.
"The ability to capture data remotely, share it across the organization, and sync it seamlessly to a Web-based database makes this combination a true work group solution," says John Landry, former CTO of Lotus and current chairman of thinkingBytes. "The integration of thinkDB and QuickBase gives business customers a fast, scalable and cost effective solution designed to address the challenge of getting information to employees and customers when and where they need it."
The Internet improves productivity by making information more accessible. However, mobile workers want instant access and the ability to manipulate data without being tied to a specific location. The integration of thinkDB and QuickBase provides users shared access to up-to-the-minute information anytime, anywhere through a handheld, as well as the secure and reliable management of data via the Internet.
thinkingBytes will focus on promoting this integration to the small and medium size business market, valued at nearly $300 billion. These customers have intense data management needs and are constantly looking for results that deliver a fast return on investment. The thinkDB and QuickBase integration pushes data to the edge of network and helps increase productivity without requiring advanced in-house technical expertise or escalating costs.
