WEXHAM SPRINGS, United Kingdom--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 20,
2001--Red-M(TM), a pioneer in advanced wireless networking solutions,
today announces availability of two Red-M Blade Dev-kits. The kits
enable Palm OS developers to quickly and easily create and test
Bluetooth applications for the Palm OS, opening a world of opportunity
to capitalize on the rapidly growing popularity of wireless
connectivity technology.
The Red-M Blade Dev-kits are based on Red-M's successful Blade
Bluetooth clip-on for Palm Vx and come complete with a Palm OS
emulator cable, allowing developers to create and test Palm OS
applications on a PC (using Palm OS emulation software) whilst
connected to a fully Bluetooth 1.1 compliant device.
Red-M is also offering a network version of the Dev-kit that
includes the 1050AP LAN Access Point. The Red-M 1050AP provides rapid,
simple and reliable mobile access to a corporate LAN from Bluetooth
enabled devices, allowing users to benefit from a wireless network in
a localized area. It allows Palm OS developers to easily create a live
Bluetooth environment to fully test newly developed applications.
"We believe that Bluetooth technology will have a major impact on
the mobile and handheld world, and see Red-M as one of the most
prominent players", comments Nadav Gur, CEO of application developer
MobiMate. "Our PhoneMate application was designed from the start for a
mobile environment; porting our application to Red-M's Bluetooth
solution was an extremely simple exercise, and we will continue
enhancing it to take further advantage of the technology."
Chris Brading, Marketing Director of Red-M adds; "The Bluetooth
developer kits open up immediate opportunities for Palm OS developers
to take advantage of the enormous potential of Bluetooth. Application
developers are already reaping the rewards of Bluetooth by extending
their applications to work in a wireless environment."
The Red-M Dev-kits are available now with prices starting at $199.
