CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 28, 2001

Facility Information Systems Inc. (FIS), the corporate-standard enterprise solution for real estate and facility management information, announced that its Facility Management (FIS/FM(TM)) software system has certified Autodesk's (Nasdaq: ADSK) MapGuide(R) 6 Software. This certification comes only a few short weeks after Autodesk announced the commercial release of this latest version.

"We are thrilled with our ability to certify this new tool so quickly as this work can often take several months or longer to be completed," said Chuck Woznick, president and chairman of FIS. "The fact that a certification for MapGuide 6 was accomplished so soon after Autodesk's product release is indicative of FIS' strict adherence to platform technology, product quality and its solid business relationship with Autodesk."

FIS' software systems provide key decision-makers with useful information on corporate real estate management, as well as the operation of and planning for office space and equipment. FIS systems are used to maintain and analyze data on costs and optimum utilization of facilities space and equipment, as well as forecasts and master plans for how best to meet future real estate space requirements.

Autodesk MapGuide 6 comprises three main software components: Autodesk MapGuide(R) Author for composing maps, Autodesk MapGuide(R) Server for combining information from multiple sources and delivering maps over a network, and Autodesk MapGuide(R) Viewer for viewing and querying highly interactive maps with only a browser. Highly scalable and secure, Autodesk MapGuide software directly connects to the FIS/FM database as a native application, streaming information to end-users.

FIS has built its products using Autodesk's primary toolsets ensuring all standard MapGuide features will function. By integrating design technologies from this platform, FIS software can distribute facility and property management spatial data across large distributed client implementations in real time, over the Web, through a simple Internet browser.

Approximately 90 percent of FIS' current customers integrate Autodesk spatial data technologies with FIS software. "The biggest value in this certification is for FIS and Autodesk customers," said B. Ray Summerell, Vice President of Corporate Development whose office is based in Reston, VA. "FIS' products extend the value and use of building design information created using Autodesk tools throughout an entire building lifecycle."
