BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 2001
Attachmate Corporation, a leader in enterprise presentation and application integration products and services, today announced the release of INFOConnect(R) 2001, a Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000 certified family of products that provides connectivity for Unisys(R) A Series, 2200 Series, ClearPath(R) Plus IX, NX and LX systems, IBM(R) mainframes and AS/400(R) systems, and DEC(R) and UNIX(R) systems.
Unisys Corporation and Attachmate jointly sell the INFOConnect product line to Unisys users worldwide.
Attachmate received certification for the INFOConnect product family following an extensive testing process for Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional, conducted by VeriTest, the independent IT product testing division of Lionbridge Technologies Inc. Products that are officially certified include: INFOConnect InterCom(R) 2001, providing T27 connectivity with Unisys A Series and ClearPath Plus NX and LX systems; INFOConnect PEP(TM) 2001, providing UTS connectivity with Unisys 2200 Series and ClearPath Plus IX systems; and INFOConnect EXTRA!(R) Office for Accessory Manager 2001, which provides multi-host access to IBM mainframes and AS/400 systems, DEC and UNIX systems.
"With an installed base of over one million desktop users connecting to Unisys ClearPath Plus Systems, the Windows 2000 certification of INFOConnect is crucial," said Kevin McHugh, Unisys vice president and general manager of program marketing and management. "Now we have the convergence of two standards for the desktop: INFOConnect as the de facto standard for connecting PCs and Unisys systems, and Microsoft Windows 2000."
Attachmate's Windows 2000 certified family of products provides INFOConnect customers with solutions for greater management, customization, and efficiency for accessing their host systems, with reliability to connect from anywhere, anytime. Additionally, the component sharing and smart installation features lower the costs of support and deployment.
"Attachmate continues its leadership in enterprise access. By combining our 20 years of experience with emerging technologies, we enable our customers to create new solutions from legacy information. INFOConnect 2001 is a continuation of this," said Larry Schuiski, Attachmate's senior vice president, products and support. "This release provides our Unisys customers with superior information access that exploits the manageability and extensibility of the Windows 2000 desktop into the enterprise."
New INFOConnect 2001 highlights:
