OAKLAND Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 30, 2001

DeJardenia Living Floral Design Gallery is hosting a holiday artist showcase entitled "The Divas of Art: Original Works by African American Women Artists," running through December 8. The in-store showcase will also be featured in the December 1 Oakland Tribune Holiday Parade as artists Karen Johnson Wyatt, Joyce York and Bernadette Aline Robertson ride in the Wells Fargo Stagecoach carrying DeJardenia's floral torch bouquets.

A champagne reception will follow the parade at DeJardenia's waterfront location on Grand Avenue, across from Lake Merritt, giving the media and public an opportunity to meet the artists and view new original artwork and fine art prints.

Media opportunity to meet the artists:

Saturday, December 1, after the parade, at DeJardenia.

About the artists:

A painter of fine arts for over 32 years, Karen Johnson Wyatt is a distinguished artist specializing in jazz scenes and Egyption motifs in oil and on canvas. Wyatt is currently painting on wraparound canvases that require no framing.

Joyce York is well known for her redwoods scenes, landscapes and seascapes, as well as a variety of cultural motifs. York studied at the California College of Arts & Crafts, and still lives in the East Bay.

Self-taught artist Bernadette Aline Robertson is regarded as one of California's talented new artists. Her work has been included in important private collections in California and elsewhere.

About the floral gallery:

A unique concept in luxurious living floral design, the DeJardenia Gallery offers a complementary setting for the display of these collections of fine art.

In comparison to many of today's floral arrangements, DeJardenia's floral designs are noticeably vibrant and yet appealingly natural.

Located on the waterfront at 536 Grand Avenue in Oakland, DeJardenia Living Design Gallery is the brainchild of Derek Gudek and Joyce Hamilton. The DeJardenia Gallery setting echoes the luxuriousness and natural beauty of the floral arrangements produced here. Visit DeJardenia's award-winning web site at www.dejardenia.com.
