ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 2001
Cyveillance(R), the leading provider of automated Internet intelligence, today announced it has been retained by The Nasdaq Stock Market(R), the market of choice for leading companies worldwide, to provide online brand management and digital asset protection services.
As the legitimate use and recognition of the Nasdaq brand and Nasdaq indexes have grown, so, too, has their use by unauthorized financial sites and adult content/gambling sites. Cyveillance, which provides 100% Relevant Intelligence(TM) to its clients, will scour the Internet to find all instances of unauthorized use of the Nasdaq brand and indexes and associations with undesirable content. This intelligence will allow Nasdaq to license the unauthorized sites, increase revenue, and address any sites misusing the familiar Nasdaq brand.

"The Nasdaq name brings with it credibility and legitimacy among the investing public which is extremely important for us to maintain," said John L. Jacobs, Senior Vice President, Nasdaq Stock Market. "The Nasdaq indexes are indispensable benchmarks in the [pilcrow (paragraph sign)]financial community. Maintaining control over our brand and indexes on the vast, unstructured Internet ensures that the name we have so carefully built will not be eroded by others seeking to capitalize on this established credibility."
"Nasdaq has joined the growing ranks of big-brand companies concerned about Internet management," said Panos Anastassiadis, president and chief executive officer, Cyveillance. "A comprehensive Internet intelligence plan gives Nasdaq, and other leading corporations, the ability to choose how they are represented online."
