Ziff Davis Media Inc. Names Bart W. Catalane Chief Operating Officer and CFO; Former TMP Worldwide Chief Financial Officer Joins Leading Technology Media Company

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 2001

Ziff Davis Media Inc. announced today the appointment of Bart W. Catalane to the position of Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

Catalane, who will report to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert F. Callahan, will be responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations and financial aspects for the company. Catalane starts November 26th.

With 21 years of work experience in various operations and finance functions with top-tier companies, Catalane brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his new role at Ziff Davis Media. His background integrates solid operations and management skills with a strong foundation in public and private company finance. In addition, his previous work with capital markets, both equity and debt, and his financial oversight of acquisitions and start-ups in domestic and international arenas will serve Ziff Davis Media well as the company continues to expand its operations and grow its businesses.

Most recently, Catalane was Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of TMP Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: TMPW). Prior to that, Catalane was Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of ABC's Broadcasting Division, a unit of the Walt Disney Company, based in New York. Catalane held various senior management and finance roles with Capital Cities/ABC Inc. since his start with the company in 1984 and worked directly with Callahan from 1990 to 1999.

Catalane is a 1978 graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut and earned a Masters in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, in 1980. He has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Broadcasters, the North American National Broadcasters Association, the International Radio and Television Foundation and the American Broadcast Employees Federal Credit Union. He has been a Certified Public Accountant in New York since 1982.
