Interactive Presentation Tool Receives 2001 B2B Awards
Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of networked imaging solutions, and i3 Information & Imagination Inc., a leader in interactive presentation technologies, announced today that the companies have received two 2001 ACE B2B Awards from the Business Marketing Association of New York in the categories of "Interactive Media and Web Sites (CD ROM or Disk)" and "B2B Publications - Media Kit."
ACE B2BAwards recognize creative excellence among the best in the business-to-business industry. Canon U.S.A. and i3 received the awards for their co-development of "imagePlatform Essentials," an interactive, media-rich, CD-ROM tool designed for Canon employees and dealers to use in customer presentations and sales training.
"imagePlatform Essentials" provides a high-level view of Canon imageRUNNER products that utilize the company's innovative imagePlatform (iP) architecture, from their standard and advanced functions, to network integration, hardware components, and software utilities.
"Canon is very pleased to be recognized with an ACE B2B Award for our 'imagePlatform Essentials' CD-ROM," said Arlene Salvador, project development manager, Canon U.S.A. Sales Training Division. "Our objective in creating this interactive presentation tool was to convey to end-users the critical role Canon imagePlatform digital products can play in the management and communication of corporate information throughout the enterprise, and across the Internet."
"Working with Canon has been a terrific team effort," added Stuart Park, CEO of i3. "The team brought together the right combination of creative and technical capabilities as well as product knowledge and industry smarts to produce an engaging sales, marketing and training tool. As some of the first to see, touch and work with the new imagePlatform products, we were all energized by their innovative capabilities, especially their unique Internet features."
The Canon "imagePlatform Essentials" interactive CD-ROM was created using Macromedia Director (R) with Macromedia Flash (R) animations, 3D models created in NewTek LightWave 3D (R), and voice over. With highly animated content, the multimedia presentation can also serve as a "virtual showroom" for Canon dealers at customer locations, open houses, and trade shows.
Canon ISG Sales Training is the source of product, sales, and technology knowledge for the Imaging Systems Group sales channel. The division is a conduit, providing quality courseware, collateral materials, multimedia training and web-based training. With a mission to facilitate improvements in sales competency through the use of human performance standards, education, and training, Canon ISG Sales Training reached over 5,000 Canon ISG sales professionals in 2001, delivering nearly 15 courses exceeding 90,000 hours of total class training time.
