Deborah Ellinger Joins CVS Corporation to Head Strategic Planning and Business Development

- Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning at Staples, Inc. to
become Executive Vice President at CVS in December -
CVS Corporation (NYSE:CVS) announced today that it has named Deborah G. Ellinger Executive Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development.
Ellinger will have responsibility for new business development and the evaluation of strategic business opportunities. She will report to Thomas M. Ryan, Chairman, President and CEO of CVS, and serve on the company's executive committee.
Ellinger joins CVS from Staples, Inc., where she has served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development since 1999. Before coming to Staples, Ellinger was a Partner at the Boston Consulting Group, and before that she served as a Vice President at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh. Ellinger studied mathematics and law at the University of Cambridge in England, and qualified at the Inns of Court School of Law as a Barrister.

Ellinger resides in Wellesley, Massachusetts with her husband, Vernon, and their two daughters. She will officially join CVS in December.
