Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company, today unveiled Yahoo!(R) Mail - Business Edition (http://business.mail.yahoo.com), a new premium service that allows small businesses to get a professional, branded e-mail address (i.e., employee@yourcompany.com) that is easier to use and more affordable than alternative business e-mail hosting solutions.
Yahoo! Mail - Business Edition combines the technology of Yahoo! Mail, one of the world's most popular Web-based email systems, with the features small businesses need, such as multiple e-mail accounts with 25 MB of storage and centralized e-mail account administration. Yahoo! Mail - Business Edition eliminates banner ads and taglines from e-mails, and offers a customized, branded e-mail address for a truly professional look.
Starting at $9.95 per month plus a $25 set up fee, businesses get five e-mail accounts with a wealth of features such as Spamguard(TM), anti-virus protection through Symantec's CarrierScan Server technology; Yahoo! Address Book (http://address.yahoo.com) and Yahoo! Calendar (http://calendar.yahoo.com) integration; and e-mail access from any Internet-enabled PC. Yahoo! Mail - Business Edition is expandable up to 200 e-mail accounts and is currently available to users in the United States.
"Yahoo! Mail - Business Edition offers a high-quality and cost-effective solution, giving businesses a way to communicate with customers and employees to improve business efficiency," said Lisa Pollock, director of Messaging Products, Yahoo!. "Business Edition combines Yahoo! Mail's best-of-breed technology with the essential features and functionality small businesses need to improve communication and operations."
Small businesses are using the Internet more than ever to communicate with customers and improve business productivity. According to the Small Business Administration, small businesses that use the Internet are growing 46 percent faster than those that do not.
Pollock added, "The launch of Yahoo! Mail - Business Edition supports our goal of providing small businesses with essential solutions that allow them to leverage the Internet to reach new customers, grow sales, and save time and money. As more businesses are looking to the Internet to grow their businesses, we strive to provide them with affordable, reliable solutions that meet their needs."
