ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2001
FREE beta download supercharges Microsoft Windows based eSupport
environments with a graphical user interface, SSL-compatible
encryption, MS Windows NT user authentication, and a MS Windows
installer
Tridia Corporation (www.tridia.com), a global provider of eSupport tools that empower remote system administration for live support, collaboration, and training today announced the immediate online availability of TridiaVNC Pro(TM) 1.0 beta.
TridiaVNC Pro is a low cost yet powerful alternative to Microsoft Windows based remote control products like market leader pcAnywhere from Symantec. TridiaVNC Pro supercharges Microsoft Windows based eSupport environments with a graphical user interface, SSL-compatible encryption, MS Windows NT user authentication with centralized access control, and a MS Windows installer. Its hardware independent approach to remote control allows TridiaVNC Pro to support ALL video cards on any Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 computer, without having to reboot.
TridiaVNC Pro leverages the open source underpinnings of virtual network computing (VNC) to maximize its remote control functionality and value. TridiaVNC Pro is the next generation of the highly successful and widely distributed open source version of TridiaVNC(TM).
Interested parties can download a FREE working copy of the TridiaVNC Pro beta from http://www.tridiavncpro.com. Beta versions of TridiaVNC Pro will demonstrate its features and functionality for 30-days. Users can upgrade their beta versions online to the commercial version, once TridiaVNC Pro 1.0 ships in November, 2001. TridiaVNC Pro is licensed per desktop. TridiaVNC Pro has a $49 base price per seat for one to nine licenses. Graduated volume discounts begin at 10 seats and progress to more than 5,000. For comparison purposes, Microsoft Windows-based remote control products often cost as much as $179 per seat license.
"Our customers asked for an affordable, yet powerful solution for remote eSupport--and we built it," says Vince Frese, chief executive officer of Tridia Corporation. "They were tired of paying high license fees across many seats." As companies grow, the need for and the cost of providing eSupport expand exponentially. "Without an affordable remote control solution like TridiaVNC Pro, our customers would be spending too much on alternative products like pcAnywhere. That in itself might prohibit them from even considering a remote eSupport solution."
Because TridiaVNC Pro leverages open source technology, licensing fees are much lower when compared to commercial products with similar functionality. Its low per seat cost makes it a logical choice for large and widely dispersed computing environments. As with all Tridia Corporation products, TridiaVNC Pro is backed by outstanding support and technical services.
TridiaVNC Pro Features:
-- Full MS Windows Remote Control - Remotely control any Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 computer. -- Supports ALL Video Cards - TridiaVNC Pro is hardware independent. -- No Rebooting - Start and stop the TridiaVNC Pro remote control software without reboots. -- Graphical User Interface - "Explorer" type display with point and click access to any TridiaVNC or VNC enabled desktop. TridiaVNC Pro's auto-sensing feature automatically finds all computing devices on the network and displays special icons if they are VNC viewable. TridiaVNC Pro desktops are instantly highlighted alerting the user to which desktops are TridiaVNC Pro ready. -- SSL-Compatible Encryption - Complete encryption of all data during a TridiaVNC Pro session. TridiaVNC Pro runs over private and public networks without the risk of data interception. -- MS Windows NT User Authentication with Centralized Access Control - Enterprise managers can remotely approve and deny access to one or thousands of TridiaVNC Pro desktops through the central NT domain server. TridiaVNC Pro seamlessly integrates with Windows NT user authentication systems to accept standardized passwords. Its enhanced authentication scheme delivers peace of mind security that was missing from the open source TridiaVNC. -- MS Windows Installer - Convenience and familiarity of the InstallShield installer.
TridiaVNC Pro also works seamlessly with AT&T's VNC and TridiaVNC. Add TridiaVNC Pro to an existing VNC implementation to improve the e-Support of any number of remote devices. IT professionals now have a powerful remote control product that delivers expanded functionality and substantial savings when selectively or widely deployed.
