Multimedia Converter Enables High-Resolution Television and Video
Entertainment Viewing on Any Computer Screen
ViewSonic(R) Corporation, a worldwide Visual Technologies(TM) leader, today introduced the ViewSonic ViewBoxTM VB50/HRTV, a multimedia converter that provides Broadcast TV and video entertainment connections for any computer display.
Ideal for the home, office or dorm, the VB50 instantly turns any CRT, LCD, plasma or projection display into a high-resolution television, with up to 1024 X 768, 24-bit color and a full-screen image. The VB50 HRTV converter provides reception of analog cable or terrestrial broadcast TV, and re-scales the image to be compatible with high-resolution monitors. The VB50 is also equipped with multiple video entertainment ports, enabling users to easily connect to DVD players, VCRs, video game consoles and video camcorders. With an estimated street price of $129, the VB50 is a smart choice for consumers who value high-quality, digital entertainment, but have limited space and budget.
"Consumers and business users alike demand products that provide the utmost in functionality without impacting performance," said Gene Ornstead, director of business development, advanced products, ViewSonic Corporation. "From a spacious office to a cramped college dorm, the ViewBox VB50 is an efficient, economical way to get more versatility and usability out of a display."
The user-friendly VB50 features Plug-and-Play, tabletop connectivity, eliminating the need for software drivers or internal computer installation. The RGB computer pass-through feature enables users to watch TV or DVD movies with or without the power of a computer. In addition, the VB50 comes with cables and a 28-key remote control in-the-box - everything needed to connect to a display.
The VB50 is available now through authorized ViewSonic retailers, value-added resellers, and mail order channels. The product is backed by a one-year replacement warranty and toll-free technical support, seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
