SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 2001
Teledex LLC - the first name in guestroom telecommunications - announced today that the famous Mirage Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas strip has again selected Teledex telephones for its guestrooms and suites. Teledex was the original provider of guestroom telephones to the Mirage for its opening in 1989. The purchase, valued in excess of $400,000 dollars, calls for the installation of over 5,600 new Teledex Diamond L2S-10E Elite telephones into the over 3,000 guestrooms and suites at this world-renown property.
Mr. Franz Kallao, director of hotel operations for the Mirage, says, "The guest expectations for the Mirage are huge, and Teledex helps us meet those expectations. Our original Teledex telephones, installed over 12 years ago, are still functioning perfectly. However, as part of our $38 million makeover, we decided to upgrade to the latest technology with these Elite model telephones, to provide our guests with the very best amenities. What's more, the Teledex lifetime warranty provides us the security of knowing that these telephones will be in service for a very long time, just like the originals. This was an easy call to make. Teledex leads the industry in innovation and quality, two attributes that are highly regarded at MGM MIRAGE."
"The Mirage Hotel was a significant installation for our company in 1989, our first major Las Vegas resort and casino customer", comments Teledex president, Ron Lesniak. "These telephones provided the first guest room data ports to Las Vegas guests, and the first single-button access to the Mirage's guest services. Our business partner at the time of this original installation was Centel Telephone, the same premier partner we are working with today under a new name, Sprint. After the first 12 years of service, we look forward to the next 12 years of working with Sprint, providing state of the art communications products to our valued customer," Lesniak concludes. With over 200,000 telephones installed in Las Vegas hotel properties, Teledex is by far the dominant supplier of guestroom telephones to this market.
Mr. Vince Pate, Sprint's general manager of major market business sales states, "As the telecom supplier of choice for MGM MIRAGE, this was a very important transaction for us. The Teledex team worked hard to meet important deadlines that were critical to this sale. Teledex leads the hospitality industry with high quality, innovative telephone products, which supports our goals, as Sprint continually strives to deliver best-of-class products and services for its clients. We look forward to many more projects such as this with MGM MIRAGE and other Sprint customers in the Las Vegas market."
