New devices deliver industry leading functions and packages

critical for the LVDS Market

Adding to its broad array of Interface and Logic solutions, Fairchild Semiconductor International (NYSE: FCS) today released five new high performance Quad LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling) devices. The quad drivers and receivers complement Fairchild's existing portfolio of LVDS devices. Today's announcement extends Fairchild's presence in the Interface market by augmenting the critical LVDS functions customers require for use in interconnect applications ranging from printers to Central Office Switches.

By utilizing Fairchild's LVDS offerings, customers obtain products that are fully compatible with existing industry solutions and can offer significant performance advantages including a greater than 200 percent increase in throughput and a 50 percent decrease in power consumption over existing industry solutions. Fairchild's new LVDS parts available today include: FIN1031 and FIN1032, 3.3V Quad LVDS Drivers and Receivers; the FIN1047 and FIN1048, 3.3V Quad LVDS Drivers and Receivers in flow-through pinout; and the FIN1531, a 5V Quad LVDS Driver. The FIN1532, a 5V Quad LVDS Receiver, is scheduled for samples and production by the end of the year.

Additionally, partnering with Fairchild's LVDS Interface Family provides benefits including the Ensigna(TM) Lab which offers industry leading technical service and support, a strong product roadmap that protects the customer's initial investment, and a leading industry reputation for service and reliability.

Pricing begins at US$1.95 for the FIN1031, FIN1032, FIN1047, FIN1048, FIN1531, FIN1532 in >1,000-piece quantities.

Fairchild's EnSigna(TM) Lab and EnSigna web support system design, simulation, and evaluation for these devices and other ICs used in backplane and interconnect applications.
