Information Architects Joins Forte
for Java Extension Partner Program
Information Architects Corporation(TM) (NASDAQ: IARC)("iA"), provider of next generation metadata-based integration software solutions for businesses today announced that it has joined the growing number of software vendors building extensions to Sun Microsystems' Forte(TM) for Java(TM) integrated development environment (IDE).
Information Architects' SmartCode(TM) is a metadata-based integration and development framework that combines with the Forte for Java product to provide their customers with state-of-the-art aggregation and syndication capabilities.
Sun's Forte for Java product provides a powerful environment with which to develop services on demand. It serves as a medium for quickly building and deploying efficient and highly scalable cross-platform applications that reduce time to market. iA's SmartCode enables developers to further enhance the capabilities of the Forte for Java IDE by creating metadata-based services that support aggregation and syndication of both content and applications. Combined with iA's SmartCode, Sun's Forte for Java product provides a cutting-edge development environment that uniquely balances requirements for delivering robust Web applications and flexible solutions that adapt to changing market requirements.
"We applaud Sun's decision to base the Forte for Java environment on the NetBeans(TM) open source platform. We made our decision to implement the SmartCode IDE as a plug-in for Sun's Forte for Java product because we see the developing momentum with more new vendors building their own modules, which greatly enhances the value of the environment," said Robert Gruder, CEO of Information Architects.
"The SmartCode framework not only provides a rapid way to use the Java language for tying together disparate applications, but provides a path for evolutionary retirement of obsolete technologies. This results in tremendous immediate savings while improving the long-term viability of the projects," Gruder added.
"Information Architects is a leading innovator in providing tools that use metadata to model solutions and aggregate content," said Arthur Gould, Manager of Business Development, Developer Web Services, Sun Microsystems. "SmartCode's ability to build libraries of reusable components can save developers time and effort. Standards based approaches - like SmartCode's use of the W3C's Resource Description Framework - and tight integration with the Forte for Java IDE can help developers with the rapid delivery of new business applications and processes."
