Free Webcast Featuring Stephen R. Covey to Help Families and
Businesses Cope With Sept. 11 Tragedy Now Available On Demand
FranklinCovey (NYSE: FC), a leading global learning and performance solutions firm, Monday announced an agreement with Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO), a global Internet communications, commerce and media company, to exclusively broadcast a program to help people around the world recover in the aftermath of the recent terrorist attacks on America.
The webcast, presented by Compaq, is now available on demand on Yahoo!(R) Broadcast (http://broadcast.yahoo.com) through Nov. 16.
Viewers can experience highlights from a two-day conference, which was hosted by FranklinCovey at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in New York on Oct. 18 and 19 and featured Dr. Stephen R. Covey, vice chairman of FranklinCovey and author of the best-selling book, "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People."
The conference offers an uplifting and encouraging message to communities, families, organizations and businesses that continue to be affected by the tragic events of Sept. 11. The program includes addresses by Covey and other inspiring FranklinCovey speakers about the challenging circumstances and issues facing people today.
Covey said, "FranklinCovey is extremely appreciative of Yahoo!, which has made it possible for millions of individuals around the globe to view this webcast. Individuals and organizations throughout the country and the world are now faced with unexpected circumstances that they never imagined.
"However, by following simple principles and reorganizing priorities, I firmly believe that any person or company can establish a short- or long-term plan, which will allow them to cope with and overcome any hardship and turn it into a success."
"The Internet has proven to be a crucial medium to help people connect with each other and get the latest news and updated videos in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 tragedy," said David Mandelbrot, vice president and general manager, Yahoo! Entertainment.
"Yahoo! continues to encourage people to offer assistance to those directly affected by the terrorist attacks and we hope this free program on Yahoo! Broadcast will give families and businesses around the world the inspiration and strength they need to move forward during these uncertain times."
During the "Strengthening Families" workshop on Oct. 18, Covey used the 7 Habits(R) as a foundation to discuss how families, through a powerful framework of timeless principles, might enable family members to effectively communicate about and resolve their challenges.
The "Managing Change in the Face of Crisis and Economic Uncertainty" conference for businesses and organizations on Oct. 19 featured keynote addresses by Covey, Bob Whitman, chief executive officer of FranklinCovey, and Hyrum W. Smith, vice chairman of FranklinCovey and author of "What Matters Most: The Power of Living Your Values." The program, now available on Yahoo! Broadcast, features highlights from both conferences.
This webcast is presented by Compaq (NYSE: CPQ), a leading enterprise solutions provider, which is making it possible for people around the world to experience this important event.
