WESTBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 2001
Linius(R) Technologies, Inc., the leader in wire harness design automation solutions, announces EMbassyWorks3.0, the latest release of the company's wire harness design software. EMbassyWorks remains the only SolidWorks(R) Certified Gold Product for wire harness design, and the latest release provides a tighter level of integration that continues to improve ease of use and offers dramatic productivity gains.
According to Tim Alibozek, Linius Technologies President, "Now that all EMbassyWorks data is stored in the SolidWorks part and assembly files, our users can enjoy an even tighter level of integration with SolidWorks software. This streamlined data storage approach further reduces learning curve and process integration issues, making it easier than ever before to design a wire harness with EMbassyWorks."
New for EMbassyWorks3.0
EMbassyWorks3.0 offers an even tighter integration than previous versions. This enables users to easily integrate EMbassyWorks into their current design flow. EMbassyWorks3.0 data is pdm-friendly and can be easily incorporated into existing data management methodologies. By departing from the Oracle based data storage mechanism, EMbassyWorks3.0 takes advantage of the SolidWorks 3rd Party Storage solution. All EMbassyWorks data is stored directly within the SolidWorks part and assembly files, making EMbassyWorks data easier to manage, share and process.
EMbassyWorks Overview
EMbassyWorks enables wire harness designers to move from antiquated manual or 2D design methodologies to a fully automated design process. The EMbassyWorks solution shortens design cycle times, reduces costs and increases design quality and flexibility. EMbassyWorks' users no longer need to wait for a hardware prototype and can design a complete virtual prototype of their harnesses and cables within SolidWorks software. Manufacturing documentation is automatically generated and updates with each design change, thereby saving time and money during the ECO process.
First pass success on harness designs is easily achieved with EMbassyWorks, and wire harness designers now have time for other design considerations such as weight, cost, manufacturability and form factor. Customers from many diverse industries have adopted EMbassyWorks, including: medical equipment, semiconductor capital equipment, defense, telecom, power generation and industrial machinery. EMbassyWorks has been applied in a variety of ways including: full system-level harness design, sub-system or sub-assembly harnessing, control cabinet wiring, fiber optic routing, routing path and length estimation, space allocation, and manufacturing automation.
Availability and Pricing
All customers with current maintenance contracts have been shipped an EMbassyWorks3.0 upgrade kit. EMbassyWorks is available exclusively from SolidWorks resellers worldwide. EMbassyWorks is priced locally in the US and internationally.
About Linius Technologies
Linius Technologies Inc. was founded in 1996 to develop software solutions that automate the design and manufacture of wire harnesses and cables. Linius' flagship product EMbassy, operating on the Windows-NT and 2000 platforms, is the first CAD vendor-independent software suite for 3D-wire harness design. The program accepts solid models from any mechanical design package and electrical connectivity from schematic capture packages and from/to lists, enabling engineers to efficiently design and manufacture wire harnesses while reducing development costs. Introduced in June 2000, EMbassyWorks is the first and only SolidWorks Certified Gold product to automate wire harness design. Linius customers include, among others, vehicle manufacturers; medical products and office machine OEMs; the aerospace and semiconductor industries; power generation equipment manufacturers; and wiring harness producers.
