CARROLLTON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 4, 2001

On September 26, 2001, Millbrook(TM) Corporation and A4 Health Systems signed a cooperative software partner agreement formalizing a relationship to market the successful integration of their medical information systems.

Millbrook Practice Manager(TM), which has won numerous awards for its robust design and ease of use has been integrated seamlessly with A4's HealthMatics EMR Electronic Medical Record system to enable a paperless medical office.

Both systems are built on the HL7 data standard and the Microsoft Windows platform, which allows them to transfer data back and forth automatically. The integration of the Millbrook/A4 systems, which is already complete, enables physicians to eliminate most of their paperwork, significantly reducing their expenses and time spent on administrative tasks. As insurers continue to exert price pressure on physicians, having an efficient office will become even more important than it is today.

A4 CEO John McConnell said, "We are committed to open architecture and to expanding the scope of our solutions by connecting with national products. Millbrook certainly has a great reputation and an excellent system, and we believe there is tremendous value in integrating our electronic medical record with their practice management system."

Millbrook is particularly pleased about this agreement because it will provide physician practices another option for creating a fully computerized office based on the award-winning Millbrook Practice Manager. Millbrook president and CEO Michael Nissenbaum said, "We're delighted to join with such a capable, well-respected company in this partnership. An integrated practice management and EMR system really is greater than the sum of its parts."
