Atheros Expands Advisory Board; Former FCC Legal Advisor Promotes Next Generation Wireless LAN Technology

Atheros Communications today announced the appointment of Anita Wallgren to the company's Advisory Board. Ms. Wallgren of Gold Spike Consulting is a consultant to communications technology companies in the Bay Area. A former FCC legal advisor, Ms. Wallgren will consult with Atheros on legal and regulatory issues that are key to the company's long-term wireless communication strategy.
Ms. Wallgren was previously vice president of business affairs for Geocast Network Systems, Inc. From 1996-1999, she was legal advisor to FCC Commissioner Susan Ness on cable, broadcasting and advanced telecommunications issues. Before joining the FCC, Ms. Wallgren was vice president of legal and business affairs for Sony Worldwide Networks in New York. She has also served as a policy analyst with the U.S. Department of Commerce National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Ms. Wallgren has a JD degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a bachelor's degree from University of Michigan.
