IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2001
Midrange systems integrator and IBM business partner Computer Configuration Services (CCS) of Irvine, Calif., and high-availability software solutions provider H.A. Technical Solutions of Golden Valley, Minn., have agreed that CCS will be the exclusive North American IBM business partner to market AIX versions of H.A. Technical Solutions' high availability software products to the pSeries (RS6000) market.
CCS Executive Vice President Mitch Kleinman and H.A. Technical Solutions Executive Vice President LeRoy D. Earl made the joint announcement at the opening of the 2001 Avnet Hall-Mark Partner Conference Sept. 9-12 in San Antonio, Texas.
"We are delighted to have CCS market our high-availability software to the community of pSeries (RS6000) users because CCS has demonstrated the technical expertise and extreme level of customer service we would expect to provide our own customers," said Earl. "CCS outperformed all other IBM business partners we reviewed, and we expect this to be a great relationship, not only for us and CCS, but for pSeries (RS6000) users as well," he said.
"This is a win-win for everyone," said Kleinman. "With this agreement, we can now offer customers flexible managed availability solutions on all major server platforms, including iSeries (AS/400), pSeries (RS6000), and Windows NT." CCS markets and supports Lakeview Technology's MIMIX high availability software on the iSeries (AS/400) platform as well as HATS -- High Availability Technical Software -- running on pSeries (RS6000), SUN Solaris, HP-UX, SGI, and Intel-based NT servers.
Under its new enterprise banner HATS, CCS will market software for the pSeries (RS6000) that includes H.A. Clusters(TM) high availability clustering software and the new H.A. EchoStream(TM) data replication software, both from H.A. Technical Solutions.
Users report that H.A. Clusters and H.A. EchoStream are flexible and user-friendly. Both are written in Java, giving the software broad portability across enterprise platforms. Java also allows a system administrator to monitor and control the high-availability environment from anywhere in the world.
"We are particularly excited about being able to offer our customers H.A. EchoStream data replication software to transform data between platforms at the same time the host computer is running the H.A. Clustering software," said Kleinman.
He added that offering pSeries (RS6000) users H.A. Technical Solutions' high availability software products will provide additional data protection options for those considering a move to a storage network, since they may want to avoid the time involved with conventional tape backup.
Kleinman announced that the company's Web site at www.ccseservers.com will soon include a white paper on pSeries (RS6000) high availability that users can download. He also said CCS is actively looking for resellers interested in expanding their pSeries (RS6000) high availability market and invited interested applicants to contact him by phone or e-mail at any of the below addresses.
