ELMHURST, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2001
Hassett Air Express, a leader in time-sensitive freight services, recently achieved certification for ISO 9001:2000. The certification process was successfully completed for all Hassett facilities - including corporate headquarters and 10 remote operations.
The ISO 9000:2000 series is based on eight quality management principles, which are intended for use by senior management as a framework to guide their organizations toward improved performance. The 9001:2000 certification is the newest standard, with greater emphasis on customer satisfaction and systematic improvements.
"We are committed to continuous quality improvement," stated Ed Boyk, Vice President of Field Operations for Hassett Air Express. "We received original certification for ISO 9002 in 1998 and are pleased to be one of the first in our industry to be re-certified under the new standards."
"We believe in the process focus of ISO and support the greater emphasis on measurement of customer satisfaction," added Terry Sherman, President and CEO. "ISO compliance benefits our employees and our customers by focusing on employee participation, issue resolution and ongoing process improvements."
ISO 9001:2000 can help both product and service oriented organizations achieve standards of quality that are recognized and respected throughout the world.
