CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2001

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is open and operating, as are all of the other Reserve Banks and the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors. There has been no interruption of services to Fed customers.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland includes the Bank's headquarters in Cleveland, branch offices in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, and a check processing center in Columbus. The Cleveland Fed serves the Fourth Federal Reserve District, which includes Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is one of twelve Reserve Banks that, along with a Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System. As the nation's central bank, the Federal Reserve System formulates U.S. monetary policy, regulates certain banking institutions, and provides payments services to financial institutions and to the U.S. government.
