CALGARY, ALBERTA, Canada--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 2001

Hyprotech is pleased to announce the appointment of Russell Byfield as Vice President, Sales, Asia-Pacific Region, heading up the company's Asia Pacific business development, sales initiatives and agents.

Byfield's role will be to assure customer satisfaction and ensure profit for all operations in his region. He has had over 15 years of experience in Business Development, Marketing and Engineering, mainly in the Asia Pacific region and Europe.

Most recently, he was a Business Manager for Kvaerner Engineering & Construction (E&C) -- Oil and Gas/Hydrocarbons. At Kvaerner, he was responsible for business development in South East Asia and regional relationships for global projects. Byfield developed, negotiated and secured the contract for a world-record-breaking pipeline project, as well as introduced new markets and contracting strategies to Kvaerner's E&C office in Singapore. Byfield holds an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from Adelaide University in South Australia.
