Tevel Ltd. Selects OpenTV for Broadband Cable Interactive TV; OpenTV becomes unanimous interactive TV middleware partner for cable in Israel

Tevel Ltd., a leading broadband cable TV operator in Israel, has selected the OpenTV EN2(TM) middleware platform to enable the launch of multiple interactive television services, including Electronic Program Guide (EPG), weather information and games, to its 430,000 subscribers.

Tevel Ltd. is the third Israeli broadband cable TV operator to select the OpenTV platform, along with Golden Channels and Matav. Collectively, the three networks reach 1.2 million households and make OpenTV the unanimous broadband cable interactive TV partner in Israel.

Technology from OpenTV (Nasdaq/NM:OPTV)(Euronext Amsterdam:OPTV), the world's leading interactive television company, has been selected by broadband cable TV operators across Europe, the USA and Asia. Previous announcements include Primacom in Germany, E-Vision in the United Arab Emirates, Matav and Golden Channels in Israel, USA Media in the US, NTC China and Shanghai Cable. Each network is using OpenTV's third generation operating system, EN2, to implement two-way connectivity.
