Masaru Murai Joined WiredPocket Board of Directors; Ex Compaq and IBM Japan Executive Brings International High-Tech Expertise And Network To Wireless Web Startup

WiredPocket, a leader in wireless Internet enabling software, today announced Masaru Murai has joined its Board of Directors.
Masaru Murai is a highly regarded and well connected international executive with over 35 years of experience in high-tech industries with leading companies like IBM and Compaq. Serving at critical posts, Murai undertook numerous successful accomplishments including designing the first on-line banking system in Japan in early 1960s and establishing Compaq Computers Japan.
As a member of WiredPocket's Board of Directors, Masaru Murai provides guidance on the company's strategic direction and operational execution. He also helps maximize WiredPocket's value to benefit both shareholders and employees. Murai plays a significant role in broadening and strengthening WiredPocket's relationships in Japan, using his strong ties with technology and financial leaders there.

Murai is currently the chairman of four successful Japanese companies including Business Cafe Japan. Business Cafe is the largest incubation company in Japan that collaborates large corporations and start-up companies. Prior to joining Business Cafe Japan, Murai had been with Compaq for over six years, establishing the company's Japanese subsidiary and serving positions as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Compaq Computers Japan Corporation. During this time, Masaru Murai has also served as the governor of American Chamber of Commerce in Japan. Murai came to Compaq, by way of IBM Computers where he was the General Manager of Communication Products and Services.
Murai holds a B.S. in Commerce from Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan and an MBA from UCLA in the U.S.
