MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. & SARATOGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 2001

Clairvoyant Software, Inc., a leading provider of financial-oriented network bandwidth and equipment forecasting solutions, is the newest member of the CommWorks(R) Community of Partners, the companies announced today. The global partner program established by CommWorks Corporation, an industry leader in delivering Internet Protocol (IP) based networks, supports specific business objectives of the company's service provider customers by meeting the demands of rapid change in the telecommunications industry.

The CommWorks Community of Partners program encompasses companies in the telecommunications, computer, Internet and network service provider industries. Participants in the program work closely to place network solutions and advanced technology in the hands of customers. Through mutual relationships with key vendors, CommWorks offers its customer a range of solutions no single vendor could provide. More than 30 companies have joined the program since it was created in February 2001.

"We are very excited to partner with a market leader such as CommWorks," said Greg Hampton, Clairvoyant president and chief executive officer. "For the first time, wireless service providers will have solutions that will eliminate the guesswork from network growth forecasts and associated financial planning. Combined solutions from CommWorks and Clairvoyant will help service providers reliably manage their 2G and 3G growth and transition from 2G to 3G, while continuing to provide the desired quality to service to their subscribers."

Clairvoyant Software provides an essential component for the CommWorks Resource Optimization Service. This new service offering helps service providers better understand the subscriber usage of their networks and proactively plan and budget for future capacity upgrades and reallocations well in advance of customer demand.

Clairvoyant's ForeCast(TM) Manager, a service-demand forecasting system, combines highly granular network usage data (granularity of 30 seconds or less) with quality of service requirements and business intelligence to proactively inform customers of what network equipment to buy, how much, when, and where to deploy it. This system helps to identify potential purchasing requirements by highlighting network resources that are at high risk of saturation within 90-, 180- and 360-day intervals. Other system features include the ability to show the busiest time of day and predict when a network resource will reach 100 percent saturation; usage trends of customers within specific timeframes; and planning scenarios that evaluate the impact of adding new applications to the network.
