Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq:YHOO), a leading global Internet communications, commerce and media company, today announced that the Yahoo!(R) Music Artist of the Month for September is Jay-Z, the prolific rap artist whose six albums -- including "The Blueprint", which will be released on September 18th -- make up one of the most authoritative bodies of work in recent hip-hop.
The "Artist of the Month" feature on Yahoo! Music highlights one chart-topping artist for the full month, offering a wide variety of music experiences, activities and events throughout the month. These include the ability to listen to and download music; watch videos; shop for artist merchandise; chat with artists directly; access the latest music news including upcoming concert tour dates, comprehensive lyrics, recent albums and singles; enter sweepstakes for free artist merchandise; and connect with other fans.

The Jay-Z "Artist of the Month" site features streaming and downloadable audio of the star's best music; an extensive music video catalog; video from an exclusive Yahoo! interview with Jay-Z and tour of Bassline Studios with Jay-Z's producer Kanye West; news and information about his new album "The Blueprint" and upcoming tour dates. It also provides photos; links to fan groups and the official Jay-Z website; and access to a live Yahoo! Chat with Jay-Z on Wednesday, September 26th at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT, a sweepstakes to win his leather jacket, and an auction for concert tickets.
