Catalytica Energy Systems Appoints Dominic Geraghty Senior Vice President of Corporate Development

Catalytica Energy Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CESI) announced today that Dominic Geraghty has joined the Company as senior vice president, Corporate Development. In this newly created position, Geraghty will identify, cultivate, and execute strategic business opportunities in support of corporate growth.

Geraghty joins the Company with over 25 years of experience in the power industry, including thirteen years at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).

Prior to joining Catalytica Energy Systems, Geraghty was co-founder of Enerwise Global Technologies, and served as its senior vice president of Corporate Development. In this role, he developed the corporate business plan and oversaw various business development, marketing, and sales activities. During this time, he was also responsible for completing a strategic alliance and an acquisition, which enabled global expansion. Geraghty also founded grid2plug.com, an E-commerce company focused on developing premium power / "high-9s" solutions for the power generation industry. Previously, Geraghty held senior management positions with various other companies in the energy industry, including a three-year tenure as general partner of Utech, a venture capital fund focused on energy-related deals, and a 13-year tenure at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) from 1977-1990, where he was responsible for corporate planning and research & development management. Geraghty holds B.E. and Ph.D. degrees in chemical engineering from University College in Dublin, Ireland, and an M.B.A. from the University of Santa Clara.
