WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 2002

Agfa Monotype Corporation, a major provider of fonts and font technologies worldwide, has announced the customization of a Monotype Classics(TM) font for use in a new series of Knowledge Adventure educational software titles for young students.

The sans-serif TrueType(R) font, Twentieth Century, was modified to enhance readability within four titles expected to be available next month from various retail outlets nationwide: JumpStart Advanced Preschool(TM), JumpStart Advanced Kindergarten(TM), JumpStart Advanced 1st Grade(TM) and JumpStart Advanced 2nd Grade(TM). The customized Twentieth Century is similar to lettering commonly used in children's handwriting lessons, and the font provides a recognizable link between hands-on classroom learning experiences and the lessons taught with JumpStart software.

"We were looking for a kid-friendly, school-appropriate font to use in our new JumpStart Advanced software line," said Diana Pray, senior producer at Knowledge Adventure. "Agfa Monotype was able to take an existing font and make the necessary changes quickly. We're very happy with the results."

"We're pleased that Knowledge Adventure chose us to help with its font needs," said Steve Kuhlman, vice president at Agfa Monotype. "With our vast font libraries and the industry's largest type development and engineering staff, Agfa Monotype can offer educational software developers such as Knowledge Adventure the ultimate in font support."
