ZyXEL Communications Inc., the world's leading Router Manufacturer (Gartner Dataquest, July 2001) and a leading access solution provider, today announced that The Westin Taipei, one of the most prominent business hotels in Asia, has successfully deployed ZyXEL's VDSL MTU solution to deliver high-speed Internet access to its hotel and conference rooms.

With this new broadband access service, The Westin Taipei can provide guests with always-on, cost-effective, plug-and-play access to the Internet while utilizing the hotel's existing phone lines.

The amenity and convenience we are delivering is a tremendous competitive edge for our business."

"The Westin Taipei's deployment of ZyXEL's VDSL solution underscores the global demand for broadband access service in hospitality market," said Dr. Shun-I Chu, President of ZyXEL. "Our VDSL MTU solution was specifically designed to serve Multi-tenant environments such as hotels. The Westin Taipei is primed to take advantage of this growing sector of opportunity by catering to the hospitality needs of the business."
