ATLANTA--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--April 22, 2002
Turner Network Television (TNT) and Johnson & Johnson announced a new collaboration today for the development and production of original films.
Door to Door, starring Oscar(R)-nominees William H. Macy and Helen Mirren, will be the first Johnson & Johnson original film to premiere in July 2002 on TNT, cable's #1 destination for drama (a).
Johnson & Johnson Spotlight Presentations, which will include a minimum of two projects per year to premiere on TNT, represents a significant collaboration between a national television network and a national advertiser. It also represents an effort by Johnson & Johnson, a founding member of the Family Friendly Programming Forum of advertisers, to expand family-friendly programming on prime time television. The program development effort was initiated by Interpublic's MAGNA Global Entertainment.
"We're very pleased to be collaborating with TNT on the Johnson & Johnson Spotlight Presentation series. The quality production TNT brings to its original films and their ability to promote family viewing is at the heart of this initiative," said Andrea Alstrup, Corporate Vice President, Advertising, Johnson & Johnson.
"TNT's trademark Original films are ideal vehicles that provide a shared family experience with dramatic programming that can engage both the heart and mind," said Steve Koonin, executive vice president and general manager, TNT. "We are delighted that Johnson & Johnson recognized the value in the TNT brand for this collaborative effort."
"We are very pleased to bring a variety of company assets to the table, so that we can work with MAGNA Global Entertainment, Universal McCann and their client in a way that goes far beyond the impact of a single network media schedule," said Linda Yaccarino, senior vice president for Turner Entertainment Group sales. "Our entertainment brands are well suited to reinforce Johnson & Johnson's family-friendly focus."
"We look forward to this being an enduring and successful franchise," said Robert Riesenberg, executive vice president and director of MAGNA Global Entertainment.
