Stellent's Outside In HTML Export enables SAP Portals Enterprise Portal users to access business content in more than 225 file formats
Stellent(TM), Inc. (Nasdaq:STEL), a global provider of enterprise content management solutions, announced today that SAP Portals, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SAP AG (NYSE ADR:SAP), has integrated the Stellent Outside In(R) HTML Export document conversion technology into its Enterprise Portal solution.
Stellent's Outside In HTML Export automatically converts business documents in more than 225 file formats to HTML. With Outside In HTML Export, SAP Portals(TM) Enterprise Portal users are able to retrieve and classify information that was previously locked in unstructured business documents, and therefore inaccessible, in order to leverage all enterprise information for comprehensive data analysis as well as collaborative applications. For example, a user can search for an expert on a given topic by combining document search with user management, quickly locating the right person with the desired knowledge.
"Our mission is to empower users by giving them unified access to critical enterprise content in any file format and from any content source. Outside In HTML Export supports our customers in accessing enterprise content -- such as contracts, financial reports and sales presentations -- that was previously locked and inaccessible," said Mark Sochan, vice president of business development, SAP Portals. "Outside In HTML Export's functionality ultimately increases the amount and types of information shared across organizations and empowers SAP Portals Enterprise Portal users to leverage all enterprise information."
"Outside In HTML Export gives Enterprise Portal users the ability to leverage all enterprise information for comprehensive analysis," said Dan Ryan, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Stellent. "This competitive advantage derives from SAP Portals' strategy to bring together every piece of critical enterprise information and deliver it seamlessly to the user."
Outside In HTML Export Features
Stellent's Outside In HTML Export is a server-grade technology that automatically converts documents in more than 225 file formats to HTML, GIF, JPEG and PNG for browser-based viewing of documents. This capability is also applicable to search applications that need to access document content as HTML for HTML-based indexing engines. Outside In HTML Export's application programming interface and flexible template architecture enable application developers to customize the resulting HTML for different browsers and to control the look and feel of the user experience.
Enterprise Portal Features
SAP Portals Enterprise Portal is the first complete and open enterprise portal solution that integrates collaboration, knowledge management and relevant content by unifying applications, information and services. This next-generation enterprise portal technology enables all enterprise resources to work together to increase business efficiency, enhance relationships and maximize business value.
