PORTLAND, Ore. & CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 23, 2002

nCUBE Corporation, a leading provider of on-demand media and digital advertising solutions, and Everstream, a provider of one-to-one and interactive advertising solutions for the broadband, cable and satellite television industry, today announced that the companies have entered into a marketing and technology distribution alliance.

Integration of nCUBE's nABLE On-Demand Management System with Everstream's patented advertising software will allow cable operators to offer advertisers new opportunities to reach viewers with a highly targeted and interactive advertising platform through video-on-demand (VOD).

Ad-supported VOD will be shown at the nCUBE booth (#1263 Hall B-1) during the National Cable and Telecommunications Association's (NCTA) Cable 2002 convention in New Orleans, La., May 5-8, at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

"We believe VOD presents an advertising vehicle for promotions and other advertising to be matched with on-demand content to effectively target the interests of the viewer," said Michael Pohl, president and chief executive officer, nCUBE Corporation. "Everstream's one-to-one advertising technology coupled with nCUBE's proven technology and experience in both VOD and cable advertising can provide operators with a highly effective VOD advertising solution."

Everstream president and chief executive officer Stephen McHale said, "The cable industry already has launched VOD and subscription VOD (SVOD), now with nCUBE, we further advance the advertising-supported VOD model -- not only as a means for the content owner and operator to generate revenue, but also as a means to enhance the cable TV subscriber's experience. This combination is a first step towards on-demand TV and the next evolution for television as a whole."

nCUBE's on-demand solutions, including the n4x video server and nABLE On-Demand Management System, allow cable operators to offer subscribers a wide range of on-demand services, from VOD to network personal video recording (nPVR). nABLE provides operators the complete management system essential for deploying VOD, including the nABLE Advertising application, a one-to-one on-demand advertising solution, which will be introduced later this year. nCUBE's recently announced nGAGE solutions provide the most scalable digital advertising solutions on the market today, including a Digital Program Insertion (DPI) product capable of inserting local and regional cable television advertising on up to 40 analog and 40 digital channels from the same server.

Everstream's S4 solutions enable the management and delivery of cross-platform advertising for video on demand and interactive programming. As an option, advertisements can be targeted and pin-point delivered to fit consumers' needs and interests through broadband and a variety of emerging interactive television applications, including interactive program guides, personal video recorders, middleware and walled gardens, in addition to VOD. Everstream's solutions manage and traffic advertisements across multiple networks, locations and platforms and can be integrated into back-office information technology to include traffic and billing.
