Notes of Interest:

Last week, cable news outlets CNN, FOX News and MSNB devoted hour after hour to the arrest of B-list actor Robert Blake on charges that the former Baretta star allegedly killed his wife in May of 2001. But Web users didn't seem to care. Blake didn't even come remotely close to getting enough searches to make this week's list. However, the death of actor Robert Urich generated twice as many searches as the late Dudley Moore and Milton Berle combined, putting Urich on The Lycos 50 at number 41.

Movie Mania:

With two weeks left before it premieres nationwide, Spider-Man (#11) nearly makes the top 10 this week, while the number one box office film, The Scorpion King missed The Lycos 50 all together, generating about as much online interest as Robert Blake. This past weekend, The Scorpion King pulled in $36 million, far less than its predecessor The Mummy Returns, which made $68 million on its opening day and peaked on The Lycos 50 at number 25.

Prom Dresses Fall, Prom Hairstyles Up:

As the prom season draws closer, searches for prom dresses (#29) continue to decline, while search activity for prom hairstyles heats up. This week, prom hairstyles (#8) made the top 10 for the first time ever.
