William Esrey of Sprint, Greg Lewin of Shell, and Terry Lay of
VF Corporation to Address Industry Trends, Challenges
William Esrey, chairman and CEO at Sprint Corporation; Greg Lewin, vice president of Manufacturing, Supply and Distribution at Shell Europe Oil Production; and Terry Lay, vice president of Global Processes at VF Corporation (NYSE:VFC), will address attendees at i2 PLANET(R) Las Vegas, a thought-leadership forum where leading business executives will convene to discuss innovative strategies to help establish and sustain a competitive advantage.
i2 PLANET, scheduled May 13-16 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, will provide senior-level executives and key influencers with essential business productivity tools, strategies and best practices to make substantial and direct contributions to the success of their businesses. The conference is designed to help attendees make informed decisions about how to slash operating costs, improve efficiencies, reduce inventory, increase revenue and enhance customer satisfaction.
Esrey was appointed CEO of Sprint in 1985 and chairman in 1990. During his tenure as CEO, he led Sprint from a local telephone company serving primarily rural areas to a worldwide communications company with annual revenues of $26 billion. While Sprint became one of Fortune's "Most Admired" telecommunications companies in the U.S. and Brandweek's 10 Most Visible Brands in the U.S., Esrey was named one of the Top 25 business executives in the world by BusinessWeek in 1997.
Lewin has been vice president of Manufacturing, Supply and Distribution at Shell Europe Oil Production since 1999. He is responsible for refining, supply and distribution of oil products across Western and Eastern Europe, including the former Soviet Union. In 2001, he was given Global Executive Leadership for the initiative when Shell Oil Products decided to undertake a major enhancement of its Global Hydrocarbon Supply Chain Processes and Tools. He also serves as a director of Shell Trading International Limited and Shell Europe Oil Products.
Lay has served as vice president of Global Processes at VF Corporation since October 2000. VF Corporation is the world's largest apparel company as well as a Fortune 500 company with annual sales of more than $5 billion. In addition to his capacity as a vice president, Lay also serves as chairman of VF's International Jeanswear Coalition.
"These successful business leaders add even more depth to our blue-chip roster of speakers at i2 PLANET Las Vegas," said Katrina Roche, i2 Chief Marketing Officer. "William Esrey continues to build the Sprint legacy through strong leadership, strategic partnership and diversified product and service portfolio, in spite of the challenges facing the telecommunications industry. Greg Lewin offers us not only valuable insights into supply and distribution strategies of a global energy giant, but also profound knowledge about the European market in particular. Terry Lay's established record of success with VF Corporation has earned him respect as a leader in the softgoods industry. We are pleased to have these speakers to share their inspirational experience and foresights with our attendees."
Speakers in more than 120 i2 PLANET breakout sessions will discuss how to increase business process efficiencies to reduce development time, streamline supplier and customer relationships and achieve proven results to increase revenue.
