At its first annual European user conference, Open Text(TM) Corporation (Nasdaq:OTEX) (TSE:OTC.), worldwide leader in delivering collaboration and knowledge management software, recognized the innovation of its customers and partners with the LiveLinkUp Europe Awards. More than 700 people were in attendance at the conference. All keynotes were presented as planned, including those by Jack Welch, Former CEO of General Electric; Guenther Klementz, Chief Knowledge Officer of Siemens; Hubert St. Onge, Chief Knowledge Officer of Clarica; Ken Olisa, CEO of Interregnum; Jim Balsillie, CEO of RIM; and Christian Petschke, KM Manager, KPMG. The winners were honored at a gala dinner event at the Concorde La Fayette in the heart of Paris.

The LiveLinkUp Europe Awards recognized 7 categories of best-in-class solutions and applications based on the Open Text family of products. The Open Text Affinity team also honored the outstanding achievement of European partners in three categories.
Category: Knowledge Management Solutions
Awarded for a solution that improves and streamlines the capture and sharing of knowledge assets across an enterprise-wide intranet.
Winner: Pfizer
Pfizer uses Livelink both customized and out-of-the-box to provide various global business solutions to users worldwide. Implementation of Livelink solutions have enabled Pfizer to retire or consolidate legacy systems and also to provide global access to business critical information.
Category: Collaborative Solutions
Awarded for a solution that provides improvements in the way a customer creates virtual teams, demonstrating improvements in overcoming traditional challenges posed by organizational and geographic boundaries.
Winner: Vodacom
Using myLivelink as Vodacom's enterprise portal paved the way to a structured, accessible and user friendly intranet that provides relevant and useful information online directly from Livelink. Vodacom also makes use of Livelink's functionality (version control, audit trail, discussions, etc.) to support the overall optimization of its quality management system.
Category: Document Management Solutions
Awarded for a solution that demonstrates increased efficiencies in document development, management and archiving, including a reduction in the manual processes required for these functions.
Winner: Television Suisse Romande, a branch of SRG SSR idee suisse (TSR)
A conception from Television Suisse Romande, STRADA is an Open Text BASIS system designed for broadcasting concept management, including managing information from program scheduling to post-broadcasting.

Awarded for a solution that effectively mitigates risk in the management of corporate records.
Winner: UNHCR
The combination of Livelink and iRIMS provides a centralized database for managing all official documentation that requires accessibility by the entire organization, including its field offices.
Category: Library and Catalog Management Solutions
Awarded for a solution that enhances an organization's ability to protect and leverage its intellectual assets.
Award Winner: Unilever
Unilever Bestfoods has used Livelink to build up and manage an extensive recipe database in support of its e-marketing campaign for the consumer goods industry.

Livelink was used to make a success of a complex renovation project of a landmark building at Dexia Bank's headquarters in Brussels. An independent IDC study calculated a return on investment of 437% for the duration of the project.
