SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 2002

150 Customers Gain Access to Information on Performance and

Quality of Outsourcing Services

Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ), the world's leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced that Atos Origin, Europe's third largest IT services and outsourcing company, has deployed a Business Objects-powered extranet that gives 150 customers real-time visibility into the processes, performance, and quality of Atos Origin's outsourcing services. The Atos Origin extranet is powered by WebIntelligence(R), the internet-based BI solution from Business Objects, and provides customers with online access to all outsourcing-related information.

Atos Origin collects data from more than 100,000 service calls made each month, and uses Business Objects to access, analyze, and share information on a range of subjects, including time to resolution, quality of technical escalation process, and cost analysis. By making this data available direct to its customers via a Business Objects-powered extranet, Atos Origin has given its customers a powerful tool for improving understanding of their business operations. In addition, the extranet has allowed Atos Origin to create more collaborative partnerships with its customers, as the company and customers work together to identify internal process improvements and cost saving opportunities.

Finally, the extranet has given Atos Origin's customers the ability to track and monitor performance metrics, which they can use to ensure Atos Origin meets service level agreements. Prior to Business Objects, these indicators were based on the analysis of a wide range of data distributed on different systems and applications that often had their own embedded reporting solution and did not intercommunicate, making reporting an isolated process. This limited the scope and value of incident analysis.

In addition, Atos Origin uses Business Objects as its internal business intelligence standard. In just two months, Atos Origin rolled out an enterprise BI solution with Business Objects. One hundred reports from disparate information systems have been cut down to 27 standard formats, delivering more accurate and easily accessible information. By slashing reporting times from several days to a matter of hours each month, the system has generated a substantial productivity boost.
