NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2002
The Online Publishers Association (OPA) announced today that 24/7 Real Media, DoubleClick and Tacoda Systems have joined as associate members.
The OPA introduced associate membership in December 2001 to allow vendors and organizations that support the online publishing business to participate in important industry developments through involvement with the OPA.
"We are pleased that these organizations have elected to show their support of quality content publishing on the Internet through associate membership with us," said Michael Zimbalist, Executive Director of the Online Publishers Association. "We look forward to working with them as we continue to push the industry forward."
"Because our technology is centered around helping Web publishers better monetize their most important media asset - their users - by enabling them to create a unique and exclusive relationship with them, aligning ourselves with the OPA was a natural fit for us," said Mark Naples, VP Marketing and Privacy Officer for 24/7 Real Media. "We already work with many of the individual members of the OPA, and we're pleased to support their organization."
Richard Frankel, Vice President and General Manager of Publisher Solutions for DoubleClick, said: "DoubleClick has been working with online publishers since our inception and currently provide leading advertising and email solutions to more than 1,200 publisher customers. We are delighted to join a forum which encompasses so many of these customers." He continued: "We are also excited to work with OPA to further the interests of online publishers and feel that DoubleClick is in a unique position to help OPA achieve its mission through our existing customer relationships with the world's leading advertisers and agencies."
Dave Morgan, CEO and President of Tacoda Systems, said: "We're very excited at Tacoda Systems to be a part of OPA. It represents the driving principles for the future of online publishing and advertising, the best content, the best brands and the best audiences."
Additional information on becoming an associate member of the OPA, including a list of criteria and benefits, can be found at www.online-publishers.org/membership.html.
