REDMOND, Wash. & LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2002
Today, at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) tradeshow Advanced Digital Information Corporation (Nasdaq:ADIC) and Blue Order announced the signing of a global OEM agreement to make ADIC's CentraVision(TM) file sharing software available as part of Blue Order's content management solutions for broadcast applications.
CentraVision provides high performance shared access to digital data down to the individual file level for heterogeneous clients, allowing parallel workflow in rich media content environments, including digital broadcast and audio and video production. Blue Order (the wholly owned subsidiary of tecmath, AG and spin-off of its CMS Division) provides advanced technologies which help media professionals ingest, catalogue, store, locate, protect, transact and play-out a broad range of digital assets, making them rapidly available for broadcast and rich media production and for the development of new content.
"As broadcasting expands from its traditional control room heritage to encompass transmission of digital content directly from disk it is becoming a data management industry" said Paul Rutherford, ADIC VP of Software Products. "ADIC is pleased to be working with Blue Order to help companies in this industry use storage networking and file sharing to organize, access and use their digital rich media assets more effectively and creatively, and to deliver new levels of sophisticated content to their users."
"Cooperation with ADIC gives us high performance solutions to offer the broadcast and content creation industry that has just begun to leverage advanced storage technology in the cause of managing their workflow," said Per Sjofors, General Manager of Blue Order. "Recent customer installs of enterprise-scale digital archive management show that our plan of combining industry leading storage and content management gives our customers an important competitive edge."
CentraVision allows multiple host computers to transparently share data stored on centralized Fibre Channel disks over a high-bandwidth storage network, supporting Unix, Linux and Windows clients at the same time. Because it lets different users share data down to the individual file level--even allowing multiple users to work on the same file at the same time--CentraVision enables collaborative workflow, reduces the need to duplicate, move, and store different files, and reduces management overhead. CentraVision 2.0, just released, provides enhanced support for real-time content delivery applications, including on-air digital broadcasting and web serving, by adding automated high speed failover to increase overall system availability.
Blue Order's media asset management technologies enable media focused enterprises a cost-effective, staged implementation strategy for content and workflow management that is extensible and tightly integrated into 3rd-party and legacy applications. Because its technologies span traditional and emerging open-standards (such as CORBA, XML and SOAP) and are designed to manage content in multiple formats for multiple play-out channels, it is able to enhance production workflow efficiency across a broad range of rich media environments.
