The JA/Goldman Sachs Foundation Personal Finance Program incorporates Internet-driven instructional strategies and hands-on, interactive instructional techniques to teach parents, students and the general public about topics from everyday personal financial decisions to major investment strategies and outcomes. The online program can be accessed through the "Personal Finance Center" on the Junior Achievement web site at www.ja.org/personalfinance.> Goldman Sachs Volunteers Also Actively Tutor Students Online & In Classroom With Program

Both programs were developed through a unique partnership between JA and The Goldman Sachs Foundation. The Foundation provided $2 million to Junior Achievement for development and implementation of both programs as part of the Foundation's focus on entrepreneurial education and academic excellence. Consistent with the Foundation's venture philanthropy approach, Goldman Sachs volunteers are also actively tutoring students, both on-line and in the classroom, as part of the in-school program. In creating the new web-based program, Junior Achievement and The Goldman Sachs Foundation enlisted the assistance of Source W (Pittsburgh, Pa.), a nationwide provider of instructional and communication strategies.

"Useful Tool in Educating Every American About Financial Literacy"

"Junior Achievement is proud to be providing such a useful tool in educating every American about financial literacy," said David S. Chernow, President and CEO of Junior Achievement Inc. "Everyone needs personal financial knowledge in order to make sound decisions regarding their finances. This program will provide essential skills which will ensure that America's workers and consumers are prepared."

"Builds on the Distinguished History of Involvement in Education"

"The Goldman Sachs Foundation builds on the distinguished history of involvement in education at Goldman Sachs," noted Stephanie Bell-Rose, President of The Goldman Sachs Foundation. "We have a three-fold mandate at the Foundation: to enhance academic performance and prospects for life achievement of students at the secondary school level, to develop the abilities of promising youth worldwide, and to support high-quality education for young people in business and entrepreneurship. This new Junior Achievement/Goldman Sachs Foundation program does it all."
