New PRISM Business Intelligence module delivers comprehensive analysis and knowledge sharing capabilities for the IBM iSeries environment
Baan Process Solutions, a business unit of Baan, the leading enterprise application provider for industrial enterprises and part of Invensys plc, today announced the availability of a decision support module for its PRISM enterprise software. The new module, PRISM Business Intelligence, provides customers in the IBM iSeries computing environment with advanced data gathering, analysis and collaboration functionality. This can help them reduce operating costs while improving the effectiveness of enterprise decision-making.
PRISM is Baan Process Solution's enterprise software for the IBM iSeries computing environment. It is used widely in the process industries, including food and beverage, pulp and paper, pharmaceutical, and chemical production. PRISM software uses patented process modelling, which enables a company to perform a detailed cost analysis at each value point in their enterprise. With the new business intelligence functionality, PRISM users will be able to utilize this cost detail to make better decisions on pricing and planning, scheduling and delivery.
"PRISM Business Intelligence enables customers to tap data stored in their iSeries systems to make more informed decisions about every aspect of their business. It will help them summarize, compare and analyze data across multiple platforms and applications," said Jay Galasso, Vice President for Marketing, Baan Process Solutions.
PRISM Business Intelligence modules enable companies to perform consistent analyses across more than 60 information types, incorporating 150 numeric fields and more than 190 dimensional views. Managers will be able to combine data sources, perform comprehensive analytics, and conduct SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) of action alternatives.
Implementation of PRISM Business Intelligence can help companies attain a deeper understanding of their day-to-day operations, identify trends, and share such information more effectively across their enterprise.
PRISM Business Intelligence is available now. For more information, please contact your local Sales Organization, or send an e-mail to info@baanprocess.com.
