PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 13, 2002

PSC Inc. (Nasdaq: PSCX) and RetaiLink (Thailand) CO., Ltd. announced today an agreement with 7-Eleven, the world's largest convenience store chain, to install QuickScan(R)VS800 scanners throughout its retail chain in Thailand.

The scanners will improve reliability issues with existing point-of-sale scanners and enhance checkout speed in all 7-Eleven locations in Thailand.

RetaiLink, the designated product service provider for 7-Eleven, is installing PSC(R) VS800 compact scanners at the point-of-sale in each of the retailer's 2000 Thailand stores. The VS800 scanners will replace all existing point-of-sale scanners and additional scanners will be added as new stores are opened.

"By upgrading its existing system to PSC VS800 scanners, 7-Eleven is leading automation of the checkout process in Thailand," said Naris Thamkuekool, Assistant Vice President for RetaiLink (Thailand) CO., Ltd. "We expect the new scanner installations will improve 7-Eleven's checkout efficiency and shopper experience in the long term. Our experience with recently installed PSC scanners at 7-Eleven has shown a consistently high level of reliability, proving they are the right choice to satisfy the retailer's scanning needs."

"With the help of RetaiLink, we will be able to offer a scanning solution that will enable 7-Eleven to improve its checkout productivity and shopper experience," said Moses Tam, Asian Regional Director for PSC Inc. "We look forward to working with RetaiLink on future 7-Eleven installations."

This installation is in addition to existing PSC VS800 and VS1000 scanners already installed in 7-Eleven stores throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including Hong Kong, China, Malaysia and Singapore. Other companies using PSC products in Thailand include Carrefour, Tesco, Big-C, Jusco, The Mall and Tops.
