LinuxWorld Conference & Expo New York 2003
FRAMINGHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 13, 2002
Leading Open Source event and system integrator team up to bring
live demonstrations of Linux-based infrastructure solutions
IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows, conferences and events for IT markets, today announced a partnership with Linux International and Wild Open Source - a leading systems integrator of Linux and Open Source-based solutions - to launch the Enterprise Solution Center at the upcoming LinuxWorld Conference & Expo New York 2003. The Enterprise Solution Center will consist of live demonstrations featuring a model company's multi-vendor, integrated solutions for storage and data management, wireless and remote installations, desktop and high-performance Internet solutions.
LinuxWorld Conference & Expo, the premier event exclusively focused on Linux and Open Source solutions, will take place January 21-24, 2003 at New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
For the first time ever at any Linux or Open Source technology event, LinuxWorld attendees will receive a blueprint for planning and implementing enterprise-grade Linux and Open Source solutions in a vendor-neutral environment. Visitors to the Enterprise Solution Center will be able to discuss their unique needs with key vendors, and will also receive a white paper and CD-ROM detailing the system requirements and source code necessary to build these solutions within their own environments.
"Working with Wild Open Source and Linux International, we'll be able to create a live demonstration of Linux-based core business applications that not only shows attendees it can be done, but also how it can be done," said Rob Scheschareg, vice president of sales, marketing and product development at IDG World Expo. "LinuxWorld Conference & Expo provides an ideal face-to-face educational platform to meet IT decision-makers' growing demand for guidance on migration and the implementation of Linux solutions into existing environments."
"It pleases me that Linux International can be associated with an event that shows all these vendors' products working together utilizing open standards and Open Source," said Jon `Maddog' Hall, president of Linux International.
"The vendors we have spoken to have been highly enthusiastic about the Enterprise Center," said Ted Cook, director of business development for Wild Open Source, Inc. "You can expect to see a diverse mix of commercial and Open Source technologies in the ESC, just as you would in a real enterprise."
