NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2002

Grammy winning singer Luther Vandross will hit the road to headline the "Burger King Got Music Summer Soul Tour" beginning on August 15 in Boston, MA where he will perform his classics along with recent smash hits "Take You Out," and "I'd Rather" off his current and 15th Platinum album, Luther Vandross.

For this album, which was released on Clive Davis' J Records, Luther co-wrote and produced with some of the hottest new producers. His first single "Take You Out" is still making history for spending the most weeks on the R&B Adult Billboard chart with the most airplay. Current single, "I'd Rather" spent nine weeks at #1 on the Billboard R&B chart and remains in heavy radio rotation today.

Angie Stone, the luscious soul singer whose second album for J Records Mahogany Soul was hailed by critics and fans this year, stormed the new soul revival with the powerful hit single "Brotha" and #1 Billboard Club single "Wish I Didn't Miss You." In a class by herself, Angie's spearheaded the classic soul movement in 1999 with her solo debut Black Diamond on which she enlisted Lenny Kravitz and D'Angelo as co-producers. The album produced major hits including "No More Rain (In This Cloud)", "Everyday," a duet with D'Angelo, and "Bone 2 Pic (Wit U)", featuring Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

The Burger King Got Music Summer Soul Tour also features Gerald Levert and Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child.
