WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2002

Gold Wire Technology announced today that its Formulator(R) product family of network configuration control appliances supports Extreme Networks (NASDAQ: EXTR) and Foundry Networks (NASDAQ: FDRY) routers and switches for the enterprise, government, and service provider markets. With today's announcement, Gold Wire Technology now provides network configuration control support for more network devices than any other company in the industry.

This means that for the first time network operators will be able to use a single solution for network configuration control of the majority of routers, switches and firewalls in their network.

"Gold Wire Technology's answer to the network configuration control challenge is to make network operations simple and straightforward. Formulator simplifies network operations by providing a single solution for centralized network access and configuration control of heterogeneous networks," said Jonathan Wolf, president and CEO, Gold Wire Technology. "This is why Formulator is receiving such a strong response from customers and prospects."

With this announcement, the Formulator product family extends its multi-vendor device support list, which now includes Cisco Systems, Riverstone Networks, Nortel Networks, NetScreen Technologies, Extreme Networks, Foundry Networks and others.

The Formulator product family provides support for the desktop, data center, application and core switches from Extreme Network's Black Diamond, Alpine and Summit switching families, and Foundry Network's BigIron, FastIron, NetIron and EdgeIron switch and router offerings.

Gold Wire Technology is the first company to provide multi-vendor single sign-on network access and configuration control for routers, switches, and firewalls in a single appliance. Its newest product - Formulator 200 - is released and shipping, and will be formally announced in the fall. The Formulator product family will be unveiled later this year.

Market analysis and research data from The Yankee Group and IDC predict that the market for network management solutions will be $2.7 - $3.2 billion by 2005.
