Tripwire Plays an Even Greater Role in Oregon's

Cybersecurity Solutions

Tripwire Inc., the Data Integrity Assurance Company, today announced that W. Wyatt Starnes, Tripwire founder, president and CEO, has been selected to serve on the board for the Oregon Regional Alliance for Information and Network Security (RAINS).

Starnes will play a key role in the organization by helping to shape upcoming activities and to drive the organization's charter.

Oregon RAINS is an industry-led initiative working to contribute to U.S. national defense and homeland security by providing solutions to critical cybersecurity problems; and to expand Oregon's cybersecurity cluster -- creating jobs, cultivating technical innovation and education and improving the state's economy.

"As a demonstrated leader in Oregon's cybersecurity efforts, I believe Oregon RAINS will benefit greatly from Wyatt's contributions as a board member," said U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.). "Oregon RAINS is a crucial element in Oregon's success to fight cyberterrorism and its board members help to ensure that the needs of organizations are met through critical events and programs."

Highlighted upcoming events include a round table on the cybersecurity industry in Oregon for Sen. Wyden and a meeting with representatives of Oregon's higher education institutions to determine how Oregon RAINS can best work with them. In June, Oregon RAINS hosted a showcase of cybersecurity companies, including Tripwire, who presented network security solutions to top government officials including Richard Clarke, special advisor to President George W. Bush on cyberspace security.

"Tripwire is committed to meeting Oregon's need for a safe, productive and stable IT environment," said Starnes. "I am eager to expand my role in Oregon RAINS by serving as a member of the board and look forward to contributing the expertise and insight I've gained as president, CEO and founder of Tripwire to Oregon's security initiatives."

Board members serve for one year and meet periodically, at least once per quarter. Other board members include: Chairman Charles Jennings, Swan Island Networks; Cade Adams, Infotects; Charlie Kawasaki, president, RuleSpace, Inc.; Jane Ullman, RAINS executive director; and Sherry Sheng, ex-officio, Oregon Economic and Community Development Department (OECDD).

Tripwire products provide infrastructure management, control and security by assuring the integrity of data and networking components across the enterprise.
